The Region hasn't traditionally been a large livestock production area but recent developments in hog and cattle feeding and the availability of abundant feedstocks have created a sustainable environment for further development.
- Towner County ranked #3 in hog inventory in 2006.
- Over 40,000 head of cattle and calves in the region in 2007
- Sheep numbers have declined to only 2200 head in 2006.
